Hi all,
This is recommend-electrician post is related to my completed-project My DIY Install - 8.6 kW AC, 24 panels, Hoymiles microinverters (Calgary, AB).
If you're doing an install in the Calgary area, I highly recommend Ritchie's Electrical.
This was my experience with them:
They reviewed my design, visited my house and walked through and discussed the work to be done. I wanted to do all the work myself and based on my level of competence, they were okay with this.
They then pulled the electrical permit for me.
I took detailed pictures of all my work, and when they reviewed the pictures, they noticed a mistake (I used conduit between my subpanel and the main panel, and I connected incorrectly to the bottom of my main breaker panel where my main breaker is - this is against code).
We talked on the phone, they told me what and how to fix my mistake. I made the changes, took more pictures and they approved.
They charged me $350 plus tax for their service, this includes the permit fees which they paid.
I was super happy with Ritchie's Electrical and would certainly recommend them to anyone else doing a DIY solar install!
